Egg Carton Fish(fish sounds the same as "surplus" in Chinese language, it's auspicious!)Materials:
1 x Empty egg carton 1 x Piece of red string about 20cm long Colour pens or paint 1 x Black marker 1 pair of Googly eyes (or you can draw the eyes) 1 pair of Scissors Steps: 1. Cut out the bottom part of the egg carton, and you end up with just the cup parts that hold the eggs (get about 6 of them) 2. Paint or colour each of these cups with a different colour and let them dry 3. Stick googly eyes on one of the cups. Try to stick one eye on either side of the cup, so it looks like the head of a fish. Draw the eyes with a marker if you do not have googly eyes 4. Put the red string through a large needle. Make sure you tie a knot at one end 5. Thread the string through one of the cups at a time with the last cup at the end, all the cups should be stacked on top of each other with the fish head cup as the first cup 6. Once this is completed, create a second knot on the top. With the remaining string, create a loop to hang up this fish ornament craft Hang your fish ornament near the door! Red Chinese Lantern
(red is a symbol of happiness; lantern symbolises the wish for a bright future)Materials:
A4 red card A4 red paper Glue stick Thread to hang Stapler Steps: 1. Fold the paper in half lengthwise. Cut lines through the fold to about 1 ½ inches from the top of the paper at about 1-inch intervals. 2. Cut a ½ inch piece off the end 3. Cut a strip of about 2 inches off the width of the card 4. Take the paper and glue it on top of the card along the top and the bottom, matching the edges. You will find that the middle of the paper sticks out 5. You should be left with a ½ inch strip of card showing along one side. Glue along this strip and bend the lantern round into a cone shape. Staple to secure 6. Make two small holes at the top. Tie some thread through to hang the lantern Happy New Year 新年快乐 xīn nián kuài lè! |
